About us

About us

myTOT is a parent-powered marketplace where users can buy and sell quality second hand, handmade and unique children’s goods.

Hi there! Kirsten, Kenneth and Leona here, the founders of myTOT. Thank you for taking the time to read a bit more about us.

The idea of myTOT originated when many of our close friends and family started having children. Surrounded by endless nappies and cute gurgling faces, we couldn’t believe how many items parents needed for their little ones and how much it all cost.

So, out of curiosity, we looked further into this issue. After numerous conversations, thousands of Google searches and too many cups of tea later, we discovered how little, on average, children’s items were being used and more worryingly, how little items are being passed on to other families or charity shops.

Then it hit us. Not only were children’s things incredibly expensive for such a limited lifespan, but the proportion of these goods heading for the landfill each year highlighted a problem far bigger than a simple wallet-stretch.

So, we set out with a mission to find a way we could help families retrieve some of their high initial costs from children’s goods, whilst helping to reduce waste and support families in need. This was when myTOT was born.

myTOT is a single vertical marketplace created to revolutionise how we shop for our children’s goods in one place, in the palm of your hand.

myTOT is a safe community where parents can communicate with one another to buy and sell quality children’s goods. They can also find articles filled with tips, tricks and advice from fellow parents to help make life that extra bit better (and let’s be honest, easier) for you and your little ones.

Company values

Help parents recover costs of expensive children’s goods.

Reduce the amount of waste in landfill.

Support the reduction of carbon to make the world safer for our little ones.

Sustainability

We need to come together and fight against the pollution caused by fast fashion by buying better and shopping smarter. Second hand shopping and slow fashion is the way forward.

With every thread of a dress and part of a toy that hasn’t finished its journey yet, giving an item a second lease of life keeps a story alive. By lowering global fast fashion demand, we can help to reduce consumer costs and minimise our ecological footprint on the world around us.

Growing and supporting the second hand children’s market helps the world our kids and their kids will inherit, by saving a little extra on your annual spend and making buying decisions that extra bit wiser.

It’s time to fully support the second hand market and fellow parents across the world. After all, every item reused or recycled is another step in the right direction.
